New York
New York is a state with a lot to offer tourists, but if you're thinking of the iconic sights, you're probably thinking of New York City. Here are a few of the most popular tourist destinations there:
- Statue of Liberty: This copper colossus has been a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving in New York Harbor since 1886. You can take a ferry to Liberty Island to see it up close, or even climb to the crown (tickets are limited, so be sure to book in advance).
- Times Square: This brightly lit intersection is a sensory overload of flashing lights, Broadway theaters, and street performers. It's a great place to people-watch and soak up the energy of the city.
- Central Park:This sprawling green space is a welcome oasis in the middle of Manhattan. You can rent a boat to row on the lake, visit the zoo, or just relax on the grass and watch the world go by.
- Metropolitan Museum of Art: The Met is one of the largest and most prestigious museums in the world, with a collection that spans centuries and cultures. You could easily spend days wandering through its halls.
Great point from Ernest!
